To uninstall 1Password for Mac
1Password 7 uses the Secure Enclave in your Mac to protect your encryption key when you use Touch ID, so that no programs on your computer can interfere. Single process architecture 1Password 7 combines the main app and 1Password mini into a single process, which eliminates connection issues and provides a secure and reliable communication channel. To uninstall 1Password for Mac. Quit 1Password completely: Open 1Password. Hold down the Control and Option keys on your keyboard and choose 1Password Quit 1Password Completely from the menu bar. In 1Password 6 and earlier, choose “Quit 1Password and 1Password mini” instead. Quit all web browsers.

- Quit all web browsers.
- In Finder, drag 1Password from the Applications folder to the Trash.
To remove your 1Password data
Important
These steps will remove all your 1Password data from your Mac, including backups.
In Finder, choose Go > Go to Folder, then enter the following path and press Return:
Drag any folders with
1Password
in the name to the Trash.

Choose Go > Go to Folder, then enter the following path and press Return:
Drag any files with
com.agilebits
in the name to the Trash.
Example:com.agilebits.onepassword4.plist
Choose Go > Go to Folder, then enter the following path and press Return:
Drag any folders with

in the name to the Trash.

Choose Go > Go to Folder, then enter the following path and press Return:
If you see “The folder can’t be found”, click Cancel and skip the next step.
Drag any folders with
com.agilebits
in the name to the Trash.
Example:2BUA8C4S2C.com.agilebits
Restart your Mac.

Important
These steps will remove all your 1Password data from your iOS device.
- On the Home screen, touch and hold 1Password until it jiggles.
- Tap the in the top left corner. Confirm that you want to delete 1Password if asked.
To uninstall 1Password for Windows
Windows 10
- Open the Start menu.
- Click(Windows Settings) > Apps.
- Click 1Password, then click Uninstall.
Windows 7 and Windows 8.1
- Open the Start menu and choose Control Panel.
- Click “Uninstall a program”.
- Click 1Password, then click Uninstall.
To remove your 1Password data

These steps will remove all your 1Password data from your Windows PC, including backups.
- Open the Start menu, type
%LOCALAPPDATA%1Password
to find your app data, and open it. - Move the folder named
data
to the Recycle Bin.
Important
These steps will remove all your 1Password data from your Android device.
- Open your device’s Settings app.
- Select Apps or “Application manager”.
- Tap 1Password, then tap Uninstall.
The newest version of 1Password for Mac was released in May 2018. 1Password 7 for Mac is available as part of a 1Password membership or as a standalone license. It supports 1Password accounts and advanced sync options, like iCloud, Dropbox, and the WLAN server.
1Password 7 for Mac is included with your subscription if you have a 1Password membership, or if you belong to a team or family account.
If you purchased a license for 1Password for Mac on or after March 27, 2018, your license also applies to 1Password 7. If you purchased a license before then, you’ll see two options in the app when you upgrade:
- Try a 1Password membership free for 30 days, which includes 1Password 7.
- Purchase a license for 1Password 7 for Mac.

Upgrade to 1Password 7
To get started, download 1Password 7 and install it. When you open the app for the first time, click Subscribe Today to sign up for a 1Password membership. Or, to purchase a standalone license, click “Need a license? We have those too.” Then:
- Your accounts and vaults will be imported from the earlier version of 1Password.
- Your folders will be converted to tags.
- If you sync with Dropbox, iCloud, or the WLAN server, your sync settings will be imported.
If you chose to start your 1Password membership, add your account to your other devices.

1Password 7 for Mac requires macOS High Sierra (10.13) or later.
A license for 1Password 7 for Mac does not include a license for 1Password 7 for Windows or other versions of 1Password.
If you installed 1Password 6 or earlier from the Mac App Store
1Password 6 won’t automatically update to 1Password 7 if you installed it from the Mac App Store. 1Password 7 is available on the Mac App Store as a separate download. If 1Password stops syncing with Dropbox
When you open 1Password 7 the first time, it will convert older vaults to the newer OPVault format. Converting the vault will make a copy of it in a new location, and you’ll need to configure your other devices to sync with the new vault.
